How We Verify Auditors and Pricing
Every listing, badge, and price statistic on AuditNex follows the same written rules. This page explains where directory data comes from, what Verified means, and how pricing numbers are sourced — so you can judge our data the same way we do.
Where Directory Listings Come From
The auditor directory is compiled from public, primary sources — not from who pays us:
Public accreditation records
- ✓CPA firm registrations and AICPA peer review records for SOC 2 practices
- ✓The Cyber AB C3PAO marketplace for CMMC assessors
- ✓The FedRAMP marketplace for 3PAOs
- ✓Certification body directories for ISO 27001
Firm-published information
- ✓Frameworks and services the firm publicly advertises
- ✓Locations, firm size, and founding year from the firm's own materials
- ✓Each listing records where its data came from
Listing is free. A firm does not need any commercial relationship with AuditNex to appear in the directory, and firms cannot pay to be added to or removed from it. Some firms pay for advertising visibility such as premium listings — always disclosed in our Fee Transparency Disclosure and never a factor in verification or the data we publish.
What “Verified” Means
Every listing carries one of two statuses, shown on the profile:
Unverified
Compiled from public records and the firm's published materials, but not yet confirmed by our team. We show what we found and where it came from.
Verified
Our team has confirmed the listing's accreditations, frameworks, and key details against primary sources or directly with the firm. We record and display the date of the most recent check.
How Pricing Data Is Sourced
We keep three pricing sources strictly separate and label each one:
1. Published industry ranges
Cost guides cite publicly reported figures, with the sources listed at the bottom of each page. These are planning estimates, not quotes.
2. Real transactions
Actual prices paid for audits booked through the platform. Published only as medians and percentile ranges, never as individual data points.
3. Self-reported reviews
Prices customers report in auditor reviews. Always labeled as self-reported and never blended with transaction data.

How do firms get listed on AuditNex?
We compile the directory from public accreditation sources — CPA firm registrations, the Cyber AB (CMMC) C3PAO marketplace, the FedRAMP marketplace, certification body directories — plus each firm's own published materials. Listing is free, and a firm does not need a relationship with AuditNex to appear in the directory.
What does the “Verified” badge mean?
Verified means our team has confirmed the listing's key details — accreditations, frameworks served, and firm information — against primary sources or directly with the firm, and we record the date of that check. Listings we have compiled from public records but not yet confirmed are marked unverified.
Can a firm pay to become verified?
Verification status, review scores, and the pricing statistics we publish can never be bought or influenced by any fee. Separately, some firms pay advertising-style fees for marketing visibility — including premium listings — as disclosed in our Fee Transparency Disclosure. Promoted placement is advertising, is always separate from a firm's professional fees, and never changes the verification status, reviews, or data we report about the firm.
Where do the pricing numbers on AuditNex come from?
Three kinds of sources, never blended. Cost guides cite publicly reported industry ranges with sources listed on each page. Network statistics come from real transactions on the platform and from self-reported prices in customer reviews — each labeled by source, published only as medians and percentile ranges, and only when at least 5 data points exist.
